So, John and I and the six kids had to be in two different places at once. This, in itself, made for an interesting evening. I decided I would take Ashton, Andrew and Ari and head to the proram at the pre-school. It started a half an hour earlier and I thought this way John could corral the "wild ones" and save seats while Alex
got ready for his program. The minute I took Ashton to his class he started to cry. "Don't leave me, mama" Poor guy, why am I putting him through this torture. I left him there to cry and went down to the auditorium. Thankfully, his class was up first. As we anxiously awaited the start of the program, I "smelled a smell" as Ashton would say. Ari had not been feeling well and lets just say......Thank goodness the girl had on tights!!! So, quickly I went to the restroom and tried to clean her up the best she could be. Unfortunately, I left without an extra pull-up so thankfully, she had on the tights. I put her tights on and prayed there would be no more explosions!!! As Ashton's class marched out, there he was first in line, head down, and his fist in his eye. This seems to be his "bashful" stance as he does this everyday when I drop him off for school as well. He stood there and you could see his tear-stained cheeks but then for a quick second, he spotted me and his face just glowed. I wish I had a picture of it! It is one I will carry in my heart forever. He just smiled and you could see the sense of relief in his eyes knowing I was out there. He quickly sang two songs and said his verse and then instead of waiting around to see Baby Jesus or the Good Shepherd , I loaded the kids up and headed to Harrison for the "Martian Christmas". Arriving at the school, I couldn't believe it. The parking lot, the side road, the front loop; everything was packed!!!! I went ahead and created my own parking space and headed in with the kids about two minutes before showtime.
