Well, we've been in school two full weeks now. And all seems to be going really well. All the teachers have said the kids have been off to a great start!!! We are still struggling with getting to bed but overall the routine kicked back in rather well.
Andrew is playing football for Lakeview so he's not even home til after 5 most nights. He thankfully has 8th period study hall so he gets most if not all of his homework done before he even comes home.
Alex is adjusting well to 5th grade. He has a "new" teacher and we feel very blessed to have her. She's young and excited about teaching! She has a big heart for the kids as well. Alex is busy with soccer and football after school. He is enjoying both! He's a running back this year in the "big" leagues in football and I am guessing he will play wherever he fits for soccer.
Alijah is loving back at school and seeing all the "girls"!!! He actually has our friend, Helfrich-as the kids call him, for a teacher and he really seems to enjoy it!! He hasn't had any complaints
Aden is loving his teacher. He said all summer he wanted Mrs. Cooksey and I wasn't sure who he would get since we try not to request and sure enough he got her. He is loving her and Art class!
Ashton has made it to kindergarten. He LOVES it and seems to consume everything! He's been to the prize jar, gotten a pride paw, and been praised for knowing his rhyming words. He's doing really well.
Ari is loving her last year of pre-school. Thankfully, no timeouts as of yet. She's been on her best behaviour.
I am slowly adjusting to not having the kids home as much. I have increased my "taxi driving" but seem to be free most afternoons. I get bored easily at home so I've been trying to get sub jobs or volunteer anywhere and when I can. Last week I had my first volunteer day in Kindergarten and also subbed 1st and 2nd grade. It was fun!
Next week I get to sub for my dad's class for the 1st time with a new batch. I'm excited but I sure do miss those kids from last year. I got to know them all pretty well so I hope to sub some in 5th this year so I can catch up with them.
I also took on a "testing" job that starts next week and is just temporary. I went to the training this past week and have lots to study before next week:-) I will be testing all kids in grades k-6 for a four day period thismonth and possibly a nine day period next month.
I am enjoying what life has given. I may grouch here and there but overall I have been blessed beyond measure with an amazing family, life, and friends.
I hope to get some football/soccer pix up this week. We have our first official games:-)
Have a great week!
