Well, since my last post a lot has transpired. Summer has unofficially ended. School has started. Football is in full swing. Soccer try-outs have happened. The kids have attended four full days of school. ONLY 176 more to go:)
We can honestly say we had a great summer! We couldnt' have relaxed more. We didn't do much of anything and enjoyed many late nights and even later mornings, a few road trips, some movies and some time with friends and family. It was ALL good!
The kids started school this past Tuesday and they are all LOVING it!!!! Ari started kindergartern and seems to be adjusting really well. Ashton is now in school all day but informed me he has "the bestest teacher ever". Aden is in 3rd with Uncle Craig aka Helfrich aka Mr. Helfrich and enjoying every minute. Alijah is with Mr. Grandpa this year and SO excited!!! He LOVES it! Alex has Mr. Graney and couldn't be happier because that is who he was hoping to get:) Andrew is adjusting to High School and really likes it! He's been bombarded with homework but is really learning how to manage his time with football and school. I couldn't be more proud of all of them. They are doing great. I did take the usual pictures of their first day but am too lazy to load them at this point...haha.
I,myself, am adjusting as well. It's hard getting up SO early but I am getting better. I even made myself go to bed early over the weekend just to try and stay on track. Ari and I are enjoying our afternoons together while all the boys are at school. I am hoping to get caught up on my "to do" list that is never ending. I am happy to say, I have been getting some things accomplished. I've also started up my workouts and healthy eating again so hopefully in the next few months I will see some results. I've decided I want to sub as much as I can. I figure if my kids are at school I might as well be where they are:) I am hoping for at least 3 days a week once school gets in FULL swing. I will be doing Aims Web the end of Sept/beg of Oct. and can't wait to see those ladies again. I always have such a great time with them!!!
This week soccer practices start for Alex and Alijah. Alex will be finishing his last year of school soccer and Alijah is starting out as team manager and looking forward to scrimmaging at practices and being an active player next year in 5th grade. He did awesome at practice...even stole the ball from a 6th grader:) The try-out was hard for him but so glad he gave it his all and tried.
Andrew has his FIRST football game as a high schooler this week. I am SO excited to see he and his friends play again. He's not quite sure of his position yet but possibilities include: punt returner, safety, wide receiver, and even on-side kicker. We'll see what happens Game Day.
I'm guessing my posts will be few and far between now that life is back in FULL SWING!!! But, I don't mind...it means I'm out enjoying life with my wild and crazy family! I couldn't ask for anything more:)
