Definitely back in the swing of things....

As you can see, my posts here are few and far between.  School started just over a month ago and our "work load" has increased greatly.  Between homework, school sports, after-school activities, and our children's social lives we have just been non-stop on the go.  That is until yesterday when I took a much needed "jammie day".  I didn't finish all that I wanted to get done but I got a great jump start on marking some lines from my to-do list.

The kids are doing great....LOVING school!!!! Andrew has a crazy workload followed by grueling football practices so any spare time he gets, he's spending with friends or sleeping:)  He is doing awesome! Alex is doing great, too! He doesn't have half the school work Andrew brings home but he does have soccer three nights a week and has been doing really well.  He has gotten so strong and his speed is amazing! I can't wait to see him on the track this season! Alijah is succeeding in 4th grade! He's already turned in two big projects and given a 6 minute speech that was originally only to be 2.  He loves having his Grampa for his teacher and he is also the soccer mgr and can't wait to take the field next year as a player! (No fourth graders made it this year....so may returning players:)  Aden is loving 3rd grade. His teacher says he's doing great and he's quite the speller! He hasn't missed a point yet on his spelling tests. He's also playing PeeWee and I must say I was a bit surprised at how well he did at his first game this past weekend for being so young.  He had some really good tackles!!!!  I think we may have another Tiger Football Player in the making:)  Ashton is loving 1st grade! His best bud is in his class and he LOVES his teacher so to him, it's all good!!!! He LOVES Writer's Workshop and can't wait to show me his new creations everyday!!!! Well, then there is Miss Ari.  She is currently on the "two-year" kindergarten plan! I laugh, because I knew going in, she wasn't ready and so far she hasnt' proved me wrong.  She LOVES everything about Kindergarten accept the learning of numbers and letters....Oops!!! We've been working daily at home but she's just not ready to want to learn it at this point.  In no way am I regretting our decision though, it is SO nice to have the younger kids all in the same building and it saves me from driving like a mad woman every day to get to the Presby line:)

I have been keeping super busy myself.  My sub jobs have picked up faster than expected.  I think I spent about the first week or two of school with not much of anything but morning walks and house work.  I then spent a couple weeks taking care of a friend's dog and used it to my benefit to get my workouts out in and then all of sudden BOOM....sub jobs left and right!  Last week, I had four jobs! It was great! I love being at the school and interacting with the kids! You hear the most interesting things:)  I've also had a heavy heart for a few students I've meant along the way.  These kids just need loved and I think sometimes they are just given up on way too quickly! I'm so glad I have the chance to spend time with them even if some like to push my buttons and drive me crazy...LOL!!!

John has been home this past week which has made our lives even better!!! He has a small concrete job he's doing but I'm sure he will be back on the road next week.  We are enjoying our family time as much as possible and appreciating all God has given us.  Yes, we've "lost" quite a bit the last few years from material things to relationships but when it comes down to it. We have each other and that is all that matters!  I'm too the point that when bad things happen, we accept the consequences and move on. What else can we do?  God is watching out for us!! Our kids have been amazing!!! I'm SO thankful we have all  changed!  Please do continue to pray for us though, life is good but it's still hard.

My next post will probably once again be awhile....We have yet another jam packed week full of football, soccer, a couple sub jobs and a busy weekend:)  After next week, I have a nine day testing job which I'm excited about just so I can see my old AW friends again:)  Maybe, my next post will be around Halloween:)  I have so many pictures to post but I'm guessing that won't happen...LOL!
