An "aMAYzing" Month!!!

Wow, what can I say. May was jam-packed full of SO much!!! Sub jobs, track, soccer, open houses, camp, field day, end of year festivities, my birthday, Memorial Day, and I am sure plenty of things I am forgetting.

May started out BUSY.  I worked one last time on the AW testing team.  I am sad to see the program end as I had such a great time with the ladies I work with.  It was SO nice to get to know these ladies over the past two years.  I won't miss the testing but I will miss all of our "table talk". ;)  After the testing, I picked up quite a few sub jobs.  Not sure why so many but I pretty much worked three/four weeks in May.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.  I LOVE those darn kids!!!  I have always said that it 's like my own little "mission field".

Andrew, Alex and Alijah ran track this May.  Boy, were we surprised at just how well they did.  Andrew decided to try pole vault this year.  He had never done it before and I think he did quite well for his first year.  He really seems to enjoy it.  So much so, that he starts pole vault practice next week and track season doesn't even begin until next March. (Love his determination:)  Alex and and exceptionally GREAT year!!! He went undefeated in ALL his events and he literally BLEW away his competition.  He amazed a lot of people:)  Even though he was an awesome 400 runner last year his coach felt he could really excel in the 100 and 200 and man, was she right!  Alex ended up blowing away the competition at the City Track Finals and won all his events and even broke a school record.  He was only  two-tenths of a second away from breaking the City record.  Alijah had a great track season as well for his first year.  He's slowly catching on to the "lingo" and he tries his hardest in each event he runs.  He's been running the shorter distances and did amazingly well at his chance on the 4x100 relay:) He made us very proud.

Soccer had been in full swing, too.  Alijah and Aden had a great coach and they both are playing really well. It's neat to see them talk to each other on the field and play as "teammates":)  Ashton has become our soccer pro!!! He LOVES soccer.  I think he has scored once or twice in all but one game this year! He has really taken on a love for the sport.

School was extremely busy this month.  There were so many activities to keep the kids busy.  The younger ones had field trips while Alex had a camping trip with his fellow sixth graders.  The last week of school we were bombarded with Field Day, Awards and saying good-bye to Mr. Polston.  It was so hard to see him go but we know this is God's will.  Awards day the kids seemed to all strike gold;)  I couldn't have asked for anything better. The kids all tried their best and you could see that reflected in their grades and achievements.  Three of them made High Honors and two even had PERFECT attendance!! ALL the kids had perfect attendance the first semester!!! I think that's pretty amazing itself.  It shows their determination and effort:)

Memorial Day we spent as a family and it was such a nice relaxing day! Burgers on the grill, fun in the sand, football in the grass.  It was such a nice break from our crazy schedule:)

I am sure I could type so much more but now it's summer break and it's time to hang-out with my crew and ENJOY summer!!! (that's not really much of a break anymore....football......summer reading...camp...soccer)
