One week out of the fiscal year, all IHSAA schools shut down for a week. All I can say is, Amen! :) This means that for the past week Andrew had NO practice to attend. He could ENJOY summer and not worry about football. He did read for Summer Reading but that's only because we had time in the car but other than that, he was completely a kid enjoying his summer break.
We had a GREAT week! It started last Saturday with a trip to Winona for 4th of July festivities. The boys had fun and Ari participated in POMS. She got to be in the Parade and even did a "cheer" to a Justin Bieber song;)
Sunday, Ari turned 6!!! Where has the time gone? Seems like yesterday, John and I were sitting in a hotel room in GC eating Dominoes and chocolate cake with her for her 1st birthday. We didn't do much that day. She had gone the day before to get her nails done and had picked out a new outfit:) Sparkly pink, of course;) We went out for lunch and then that night went to friends to watch Fireworks and have a cookout:)
Monday, we had a lazy morning and then hopped in the car and headed to Dayton. We thought it was just gonna be a little cookout with my grandparents and Uncle's family but there was so much food it turned into a cookout with another Aunt and her kids and their kids:) It was a lot of FUN!!! I love my BIG family!!!
On Tuesday, my Aunt and I headed to Kings Island with 10 kids and my cousin in law. We had a GREAT time! It was SO hot though and we spent a lot of our time at the waterpark:) Which the kids loved! Andrew and Alex went off with my cousin in law to ride the rides and Annette and I found to lounge chairs and sipped lemonade in between trips to the wave pool.
We headed home Wed. The kids weren't ready. They were having too much fun with their cousins but we needed to get back because Andrew and Alex left for Cedar Point the3 next day:) They had a BLAST. I think there were about 14 of them that went and they got to ride everything they had wanted.
We spent the rest of this week just relaxing and laying low:) Yesterday, we all headed to the pool for a beautiful afternoon. We had a great time but John's belly is looking a bit like a cherry today.
Today, we headed to church and then to our favorite breakfast place , American Table. The kids played most of the day and we finished the night off with a family dinner around the table and Forrest Gump after that. It has been a GREAT week!!!
Back to the grind tomorrow with longer practices but not as long as what is to come in August! Enjoying this wonderful break with my family! It has been so good! But John finally finished up his concrete jobs so it's back to the single parent lifestyle, I go:( At least I have the kids to keep me hopping...lol
