The Lakeview Wrestling Invite was yesterday. It was ALL day! Seven area showed schools up and we watched match after match on three different mats. Alex came away 2-2. Yesterday was a complete learning experience for him. For some reason, the coaches asked that he wrestle in a higher weight class. I believe it was seven pounds higher than his last meet. The first two guys he wrestled were not only 8th graders, they were huge. He tried his best but couldn't pull off a victory. What I love about Alex though, he doesn't carry the loss with him. Once the three minutes are up, he's done. He moves on and starts to think about his next match. In talking with the coaches after the meet, they are really anxious to see what Alex can do. They say he is naturally gifted and that once he learns the "moves", he is going to be a powerhorse:) I give Alex a lot of credit for doing what he's doing. It's not every kid that tries something they know nothing about for about a month and willingly goes out and gets his butt thrown around by some big dudes:) SO proud of him!!!
