So, this past weekend marked "one year" since I made my third trip to Guatemala. It was a bit of a BIG step for me as I went by myself. Thankfully, the staff at the Marriott and my case mgr were/are so wonderful that the trip went off without a hitch. Yes, it was hard to leave the boys and then to leave Ari but it was great "bonding" for the two of us. It's amazing how much she has changed in the past year.
The weather in Guatemala was a lot like it is here today and yesterday, sunny and warm. I remember meeting so many different people. Four different families stick out in my head as I remember back. I keep in touch with one or two via email every now and then but the rest are somewhere in Connecticut and Florida. It just amazes me how God provided such wonderful people for me to connect with while I was away. I always had the same bellman for my bags and we got to know each other on every trip. I would always visit Brenda in the Jade store not only to shop but to chat and see how it was going. I miss Guatemala! I don't miss the food but I miss the different lifestyle and the laid back pace. I know I will go back. When, I don't know but I know there will be more trips to Guatemala in my future not only for me but for my daughter. On another note, I have 5 sick kids. Yuk!!! I feel so bad for them because they want to be outside but they can't. Ashton is absolutely miserable. 3 of the 5 are napping so that's the only reason I am getting computer time. They are down for the count!
Enjoy the sunshine!
