Quite an Enjoyable Weekend

Wow, what a weekend. We did seem to have a "busy" weekend but it was all enjoyable:-) Friday started off with a Snow Day for the kids. Now that, for a kid in school, can be lots of fun. It was a Snow Day for John as well so he and I and a few kids ran errands together for part of the day and other than that just held down the fort. Friday night, John decided we needed a nice quiet dinner alone. So, our dear friend Tamara, came over while we went out for a nice relaxing evening. It was so nice to just enjoy each other's company and be able to finish a sentence without being interrupted by six other moving mouths:-) Saturday, I decided to take a few kids and go have some quality time over breakfast. I was going to take just one but decided three would be a good number. John had three and I had three so it worked out nicely. The three of us had a nice breakfast and then went to Wal-Mart. Which to me is a chore but to them a real treat. John enjoyed his time at home working on his "honey-do" list and hanging out with the other three. He's been repainting most of the house and it looks really nice. It's been nice having him home these past few weeks to kinda help me out and maintenance things that usually get pushed to the side. Saturday night we all headed to the Tiger Den to see Andrew be recognized for Academic Recognition Night. We couldn't be more proud of him. He is an extremely hard worker and becoming quite a young man. I wasn't going to stay for the entire game but the kids were being good and Warsaw and Marion were making a good game to watch. Plus, it was fun to tease my friend, Tamara, who was sitting on the opposing team's side. (Shame on you!!) It was nice to see the gym semi-full and hear the crowd roar. It reminds me of the games I use to go to when I was a student there. Those were the days:-) It was a good time for al the family! Sunday we started off with worship! What an amazing time. Denny's message really stuck with me this week. He talked about Paul's relationships with Timothy and Ephi....(I can't remember his name off hand) and how we need relationships like that in our lives not only with our family but with our friends. He ended the message with this question...."If you were to die today, who would carry your casket?" And, it can't be family and you were to pick six. It really got me thinking all day yesterday and still today........Can I really pick six people? I know a few but who else would I pick. Why don't I have relationships like Paul? With the friends I do have, are they a Timothy or Ephi to me? Am I a Timothy or Ephi to anyone? It was a very good message for me. I was glad, even though tired, I got up and made it to church on Sunday. Sunday night, of course, was the SuperBowl. And all we wanted was to see the Patriots lose. What an amazing game. Only one possession each by each team in the 1st quarter, Brady sacked 5 times, Eli bringing it! It was a good night of food, family and of course, fellowship:-) It was a great weekend!
