Wow, where does the time go?! For me, I have spent the last month pretending to be a teacher. It has been a BLAST!!! Granted, I'm thankful my dad is healthy again but am glad for the opportunity to have taught 4th grade. I had another run at 5th grade this past week as well. John has been holding down the fort for me and has done an awesome job. I must say, I have enjoyed substituting a lot more than I had imagined. My dad gave me a lot of freedom to do what I wanted. I did my own lesson plans for two weeks. I used youtube in class, incorporated National Treasure into our history lesson, and even incorporated good old fashion research in the library. It was a good time. Most of all though, I miss those 26 faces I don't get to see on a daily basis. Each child has a story and I was just getting a chance to hear some of theirs.
Other than that, I would be lying if I said everything is wonderful. Life is good. But, life is hard at the moment. John is just going back to work after three months off. Our lives are changing daily. Some for the good. Some for the bad. Some for the indifferent.....Our children keep us grounded and our faith keeps us moving. We have gone thru quite the rollercoaster ride these past few years and I don't think the ride is about to stop anytime soon. We will tighten our seatbelts and hang on!!!
As for the kids, they are doing awesome!! Growing like weeds and making me laugh daily!!! It's amazing the young men they are becoming and Ari could win an Oscar for the drama she brings into our lives. ONe thing is for certain, my life is never dull!!!
Well, this is my first week home in about six so I should probably be productive in other areas other than the computer:-)
