I think these words hold a bit of truth to them. You make time for what you want to make time for. Yes, you are speaking to the choir when talking to me about the "busy life" but really I don't consider myself overly busy. I consider "my busyness" is what comes with the territory when I am the mother of SIX Amazing kids who have the craziest lives. Between sports, school, girlfriends, friends, social events, trips to the park, trips to the pool etc. etc. we are constantly on the go. When we have a little downtime it is a blessing in disguise;) People have always asked me how I can do PTO (for 5 years) and sub (for four years so far) and the answer is simple. I make the time for it. These are two things that I enjoy and if it means giving up a couple hours at home then so be it. Even John and I make a point to be together with this crazy life we live. I mean it might not be a scheduled date or what have you but we are very impromptu. It's more like hey, lets sneak off to breakfast while the kids sleep or maybe sneak in a movie on a spur of the moment. With the schedules our kids have, it's hard to schedule our "time" so we sneak it where we can:) It works for us! Am I ever gonna be NOT busy? I mean before you know it my boys will be off to college and grandkids will be right around the corner. I see lots of "busyness" coming my way.
Now, I do believe you can be TOO busy. You know, when you over extend yourself and are involved in way too much. You have to set boundries. You have to learn to say NO. Easier said then done but the world doesn't end if you do;)
All things need nurtured, mind you. If I let busyness get in the way of my relationships etc. then yes, "busy'" is a nasty word!
I think what spurred this post was me taking the time the last two days to workout. I have no excuse really not to and the last two days that I have done it have felt great. Just me, God and the sunshine! Today I even vertured into a walk/jog. I am a far cry from a runner but I can take the time for me and give myself 30 minutes or so a day:)
