Last night was somewhat of a typical night at our house. The kids were watching TV, playing Xbox, surfing the net and what have you and I was channel surfing myself. Not much on on a Wednesday night, I learned. I found myself watching Mike Hoffman, the local weatherman. To my surprise, a storm was a coming! I really had no idea we were expecting bad weather. I had been inside most the evening and didn't really pay attention until I switched the channel to good ol' WNDU. They treat storms like war coverage. If a storm is coming, they interrupt programming for most of the evening. We had had a pretty good strom Friday so I was anticipating more of the same. I made sure all the outide toys were put away, the cat was safe in the shop, the dog was in, etc.etc. To my surprise, we were placed in a TORNADO WARNING. The kids started to "freak" a little but not too bad. I went outside to watch the weather. I know, I can honestly say, I am my father's daughter:) I learned to listen to the weather thanks to my father. I find myself calling and finding my children just like he still does with all of us. Thankfully, all of my children were home last night. As you can see from the picture above, my younger children took the warning very seriously. Andrew, Alex and I watched out the windows until the wind picked up pretty good and the power went out. We all hunkered down in the back of the house and called it an early night due to NO power. We woke up to no damage. Our outside trash can blew across the yard but that's about it. I saw LOTS of tree limbs down as I headed to town today. There was even a tornado that touched down in a few towns over. Don't you just LOVE Indiana weather?! We didn't see Toto last night but it was a night I'm sure my children won't soon forget:)
