July 4th - 2010

Finally, after two full days of FUN the actual holiday was here!!!! Going into the summer, we weren't really sure how we would spend our 4th. Normally, the 4th was a pool party at our house and friends and family would come over for a bbq. This was always usually a separate day from Glass Splash and Ari's birthday.  This year, friends invited us to their house for a big cookout and parade.  We thought, why not.  It would be fun to try something different then what we were used to:)  Plus, it beat having to host a get together ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE our parties but usually on the 4th I play hostess so it was nice to try something different.

We loaded up the kids around 11 and headed to the HOOD.  This neighborhood sure does know how to throw a party.  The kids were fortunate enough to get there just in time to ride the float in the parade. While they did that, John and I took a golf cart ride to our parade viewing destination and mingled with others along the parade route.  The parade was much bigger than I expected.   Animals, firetrucks, bagpipers, lots of kids and lots of entries!!! As we made our way back to the party, we saw a petting zoo and a "free" ice cream truck. The kids were in heaven!!!!

We filled up on all sorts of food!!! If you wanted it, you could find it there!! It was HOT but there was plenty of shade! The kids played all afternoon with waterballoons, golf cart rides, cornhole, ladderball, basketball and so much more.  We left  the party around 4 and headed to my parents where the kids DID NOT slow down.  We got out the sprinkler, more ladderball, tic tac toe, cornhole and we had some amazing games of dodgeball.  Talk about good entertainment!!!  We cooked out at my parents with the  usual holiday fair and finally headed home around 8ish.

We had an AWESOME 4th of July!!!!
